PinkDrive is a Cause Marketing Fundraising (CMF) initiative committed to improving breast cancer awareness
and education while providing screening services to women across South Africa. In 2010, 1,200 guests attended a Pink
Drive fundraising auction at the Sandton Convention Centre (SCC) in Johannesburg.
Solution
Having previously used IML technology at a private function with great success, CMF approached them to sponsor the
use of their Silent Auction technology. Guests could bid instantly on products and holidays using IML’s interactive keypads all to raise money for the cause. Previous events such as this had been run as live auctions without interactive bidding keypads, requiring far more man power and making the whole process more complex and time consuming. Using IML keypads meant the bidding process was taken care of, allowing the time and space for entertainment to be provided alongside the auction for guests to enjoy.
Insight
Use of the interactive keypads greatly improved the efficiency and generous atmosphere of the event. The keypads
were easy to use and setting up on the day was straightforward, with IML technicians on-site to manage the
process from start to finish
