GO GREEN! Use Keypads

A simple glance around the economy today, into the trends and highlights of the way people are doing business, will show you that Green is In and the importance of ethics and sustainability is at an all time high.  When it comes to event planning it’s no different and there are things you can do to ensure that your event promotion efforts will be green, sustainable and completely ethical.

Assuming that you’ve attended an event, conference, trade-show or even silent auction in the last few years you’ll most likely have no trouble agreeing that events cause waste and produce a pretty sizable amount of carbon emissions.  This waste comes from the sheer number of paper products, cans, trash and plastics being thrown away and discarded throughout the event.  Carbon emissions that come from that trash being sent to landfills as well as the heating, cooling, lighting and even transportation all add up quickly.  Knowing this, there are a few things you can do during the event planning stage, to reduce these negative effects and give your event a clean conscious from start to finish.  Here are some of the best ways:

  • Support Environmentally Conscious & Sustainable Businesses: This might seem obvious, but by supporting businesses with proper sustainability policies already in place can help guarantee you’re setting your event off on the right foot.
  • Use Keypads for feedback in stead of Paper: Using keypads for interaction or event feedback, will not only reduce the amount of paper required, but also save you hours of capturing paper-based feedback after the event by making the results available electronically immediately.
  • Recycle: When the event is over, rather than just throwing everything away, set up proper recycling policies.

These are just a few of many other tips that you can incorporate in your event planning efforts that will help guarantee that the ethics and sustainability will always remain intact and your event will maintain the highest standards.
